Gracelyn still only goes to her preschool twice a week so I try to do whatever I can to reinforce learning on the three days that she is home with me. Enter in our new favorite subscription box from Subscription Box Kids, The Preschool Box.
In this box you will find, activities to work on numbers, colors and letters but only up to a certain letter. Featured in this blog post is the first box which covers letters A-D, number 0-5 and colors. There are 12 boxes with each one arriving to you each month as you spend a week on a letter. Box 12 is your graduation box!
I really love that each week is dedicated to a specific letter, number and color. It really helps the kids retain what they are learning rather than just jumping to the next letter. Plus, Gracelyn’s preschool is ahead of the alphabet so this is a real test for her on whether or not she remembers seeing the letter A. Since she’s still young, I’m not worried about her remembering it but rather knowing that it’s a letter and beginning to remember.
You also get a book in the box which I think is great and so important for kids! Half of what they remember comes from reading books and we have read this one each day after our lesson. To the point that she almost can remember exactly word for word what is coming next. I love that!
The Preschool Box is seriously the best if you have little ones at home that you may be wanting to begin homeschooling or even helping retain the information they are learning in their own preschool. It gives you all the tools, directions and help that you need to really succeed as not only their teacher but also for them as a student. Education is so important and at this age, they are just little sponges waiting to soak up all that knowledge and information.
My favorite photo that we took while doing the A is for Alligator activity is the one below, you can just see the excitement on Gracelyn’s face as I told her “good job” and “you’re right that is where it goes.” Just that small acknowledgment that she is doing the right thing and also watching it all click was enough for me to know that we made the right decision in grabbing this subscription box for her!
