Donuts are my kids favorite breakfast food and sometimes snack food too. There’s nothing like a yummy donut with icing and sprinkles, am I right? So I decided to make them a special treat by making some donuts at home that we could decorate and ice together. Now, I used the box donut and icing mix from Wal-Mart cause your girl totally didn’t have enough ingredients to do a homemade version but I am going to link a delicious recipe for y’all that my friend Cheyenne has on her blog.

So aside from grabbing the already pre-measured mix and icing packet from Walmart, you do need to have a donut pan. The recipe also says that you can make donut holes which is basically a munchkin and those are also super fun to make! I think that will be our next project!

We just grabbed some sprinkles from Homegoods and Walmart to complete this fun little project. I let them all pick out their own sprinkles so that each one could have a set amount of donuts to make with our last one being a combination of all three sprinkles! Giovanni picked out the X and O sprinkles, Gracelyn was the traditional dot sprinkles and Adylee had picked out the pink glitter when we had a mommy and daughter run to Homegoods a few weeks back. We had so much fun decorating them that I forgot to snap pictures of them doing so but, that’s okay because the memories are there! That’s what I love about these fun projects that we do together. The memories we get to create!

I can’t wait to make some donut holes and maybe even some cute donuts for St. Patrick’s Day next! We love doing breakfast boards for holidays and these are definitely the perfect piece for a breakfast board.
This is such a good idea for a valentine’s at-home date! My husband and I just experimented with making donuts the other night and it was so fun and so yummy 🙂
So cute and yummy! Homemade donuts are amazing, and these look like the perfect Valentine’s Day breakfast.
Love how this turned out! So cute 🙂
