Our family loves to travel and visit new hotels and get to experience little vacations. So far, we’ve gotten to do them only in Orlando and they have been so much fun! So, when we got the opportunity to go to Wilderness At The Smokies located in Tenneesee, we JUMPED at the chance. I mean who doesn’t wanna take a road trip to another state and get to experience a whole new world. Yes, leaving Florida is like leaving an entire world because things are so different down here compared to Tenneesee.

Now, I am a country girl all the way so I mainly excited to get to see mountains and experience all that they have to offer (hello fresh air). The kids were just so excited to get to experience a place they had never been before and so were we. The drive to Tenneesee was just absolutely beautiful but the resort was pure heaven for our family.
The resort is beautiful and you can see the mountains from every angle.
If you don’t know anything about Wilderness at The Smokies, it is located in Sevierville, TN and it has both an indoor waterpark and an outdoor waterpark right on the grounds. We got the family suite that had a full kitchen, living room area and slept about 9 people. There was a bunk bed area for the kids with their own bathroom and TV along with another Queen bed in the same room that had a pull-out couch next to it with another TV. The kitchen/living room area also had a TV and a fireplace along with a bathroom. Honestly, you never have to leave the resort!

There are multiple places to eat on site including one restaurant with a buffet! Starbucks is of course located in the resort as well but you can also make your own coffee in your room if you choose to go that route.
The indoor waterpark is perfect if you have toddlers!
We really enjoyed the indoor waterpark as it had a whole sectioned off place for toddlers that wasn’t any deeper than a few inches. There is seating all over the place and we got the opportunity to sit right inside the area for the toddlers and was able to watch them play. There is a spot to grab some delicious food right there as well or treat yourself to some Dippin’ Dots!

There is also a wave pool along with a whole bigger kid area that Adylee really enjoyed playing in. There are two slides that are inside the indoor park as well that she also really enjoyed going on.
We checked in around 4PM on Friday and spent our entire night at the pool before heading back to the room and crashing. This area was perfect for Gracelyn who doesn’t really trust water just yet. She loved the temperature and felt safe enough to go down the small slide more times than I could count.

You can also head across the street for some more water fun at Soaky Mountain.
I have all the fun things to do there coming for you in my next blog!
The outdoor waterpark is also just as fun with a lazy room and super cute “cabins” that you can rent as well.
We did the outdoor waterpark the same day that we went to Soaky Mountain so while we were completely exhausted from the waterpark across the street, we had to get in some last minute swimming. The outdoor waterpark features a few more slides for the older kids/adults with a tiny area for the kids. There is a wave pool as well and a lazy river.

Theres quite a few areas to sit but there are even more cabana type things that you can rent. There are a few that look like log cabins that just seemed so cool to me!

Outside by the outdoor waterpark, you will find another little outdoor restaurant along with a firepit that you can make s’mores at. I can just imagine how gorgeous this area must be in the winter time!

We only stayed for 3 days at Wilderness at the Smokies but it was the best 3 days! There was just so much to do that we didn’t get to try like the indoor arcade with obstacle course. We will definitely be heading back in the future and staying for hopefully a longer period!
Beautifully written, I enjoyed reading the post. What a lovely resort with so many activities to do. It sounds like a place I would love to go especially after being at home for so many months because of Covid, I need a break at such a place😊

I will consider this place next time we go to Gatlinburg. I think this is a perfection staycation place to since we don’t want to much crowded places during these times.
What a great review, and perfect for fall break this week! I have never stayed here but it looks so nice.
It looks like you had a lot of fun there! I bet the views of the mountains were amazing.
Tennessee is one of our favorite states to visit! So many beautiful mountains and parks to hike, and so much delicious food.
