Surprise daddy on Easter morning with a special basket filled with his favorite things
While Easter baskets are traditionally for children, daddies may enjoy waking up to an Easter basket as well. Mommies and other family members can help children participate in this activity. Some children may ask about the Easter Bunny and why he isn’t putting the basket together for daddy. Here is a great way to explain this to a child: “The Easter Bunny asked for a little help this year. He knew how important your daddy is to you and thought you would be the perfect helper for the job.”
Handmade Easter Basket Gifts
What daddy wouldn’t enjoy a special gift made just for him from the little ones? These gifts don’t have to be complicated, don’t have to cost a lot of money, and don’t have to require major clean-up afterward. Daddy may not be interested in a paper chain necklace or a bunch of paper roses, but Easter cards, Easter books, and even bookmarks would be perfect. Another great idea would be a picture frame made by the kids with their picture inside!
Gift Cards for an Easter Basket

Gift cards are a perfect last-minute addition to an Easter basket. They can be wrapped up in envelopes decorated by the kids or tossed into the basket with the other goodies. This gift card doesn’t just have to be something for dad. Consider getting a gift card for something that he can do together with the kids. Then, the gift isn’t just about the gift card. It is about providing an opportunity for quality time together as a family.
Themed Easter Basket

What is dad interested in? For a sports dad, consider subscribing to a special channel complete with constant game statistics and the latest sports news. Other ideas include a copy of Sport’s Illustrated, a jersey from his favorite sports team, or even a pair of tickets to a local sporting event. If dad is interested in camping or hiking, a new pair of boots, a sleeping bag, or even a new fishing pole would be perfect. Whatever dad is interested in, add a few items that would match.
Think Outside the Easter Basket
Anyone can put all of these gifts in a basket, but this Easter is going to be different. There are all sorts of containers that would be perfect for dad’s Easter presents and be usable in the future. Here are a few ideas:
toolbox
tackle box
5-gallon bucket (Dads can do all kinds of stuff with these.)
ice chest or cooler
humidor
Don’t forget an Easter Basket for Mommy and to print off my adorable Easter tags to add!
This is such a cute idea. We normally don’t do Easter baskets for the adults and just my kids get one.
I always forget to get my husband something for Easter! Thank you for the reminder!!
