Being festive this Easter season has proven to be difficult for me with it being so soon after St. Patrick’s Day but, I had to do something fun for the kids and didn’t want to create another breakfast board. So, I decided to do this adorable little lunch for them. I had done something similar to this a couple years ago for their snack time but that was prior to the blog. I thought re-creating it would be fun and also this can be done throughout Spring really.
Lunchtime doesn’t always have to be boring!
My kids totally eat better when their lunch is in fun shapes or colors. Just simply putting their lunch on a section plate doesn’t work anymore. It always has to be cut into fun shapes or fun colors for them to even look it’s way so I thought this idea would help eliminate me having to cut everything into crazy shapes for them. Lunchtime is always better when it’s fun am I right?
Grab some Easter eggs from the dollar tree and go to town!
I hit up the Dollar Tree for these eggs and also decided to give each kid their own color so that way there was no fighting. Trust me, my kids will fight over who has more pink eggs than the other. I rinsed out the eggs and then put their lunch inside it. Today’s lunch was cut up strawberries, some grapes, lunch meat rolled up, and some cheese. Simple! I only put it in one side of the egg and then placed it inside part of an egg carton I had saved. Easy peasy!

Served it to them in the egg carton with their juice in these fun egg cups that I had snagged from Wal-Mart and you’ve got yourself a fun, festive Easter lunch. They DEVOURED every single bite and actually asked for more. This was a total hit and will definitely be doing it every year for lunch during the Easter/Spring season.

I love the idea of using Easter eggs for lunch. My son would think I am weird (teenagers) but my youngest would love it.
