Where to Start When You Feel Like You Have No Time for Yourself
Making time for myself is my number one priority this year and so I’ve been slowly trying to implement into my routine. Whether it’s getting up earlier than everyone and enjoying a cup of coffee by myself or going to Target alone. Even just a quick run through the Starbucks drive-thru line alone, those things help me with self-care. They seem small to some but for me, those times are the times that fill up my cup.

So where do you start when you’re insanely busy and you feel like you have no time for yourself? Start small. For me, that was getting up earlier than everyone and enjoying a cup of coffee alone. During this time, I am able to plan out what I need to do for the day whether it’s running errands or shooting content. Then I am able to take a few minutes to pray for our day, my children, for my husband to be safe at work and to also pray for my mental health that day. Some days are better than others but I always make sure to pray that it’s a good day.

This time is crucial to my day because I can take a few moments to just breathe before the chaos begins. That helps me so immensely and especially if I’m also able to knock out some work too. Being able to do that uninterrupted allows me to be able to spend the time in the morning with the kids cuddling up on the couch after Adylee gets off to school.
Just taking a few minutes to yourself is the best way to start and to begin to fill up your cup. You can’t pour from an empty cup mama, always remember that.
Completely agree. By making time in the morning you’re putting yourself on the right track for the rest of the day.
Yes! Time for just us is so critical. & more than just taking a shower or going grocery shopping alone. 🤍
LOVING this! I have a similar post: https://www.thetryhardgirl.com/do-able-getaways-for-moms-when-getting-away-is-not-an-option/
Mom life is hard, so we have to find time for ourselves!
I get up early, but to to teach ESL, so I don’t really get morning me time. I rely on after my daughter goes to bed or after I’m done with evening classes.
Waking up early is how I make time for myself. Being a mom isn’t easy which is why self care is so important.
