Sensory bins are my favorite to have the kids play with because it lets their imagination run wild. They’re able to manipulate the sensory bin any way they want so that they can create their own little narrative. Sensory bins also fall into the Montessori category which I try to implement that type of learning as much as I can with the kids. This fake snow sensory bin is one of my favorites to do with the kids because even though Christmas is over, the winter season is still here to stay so it still keeps some of that Christmas magic around. You can also certainly do this before Christmas too and throw in all the fun Christmas trees, presents, etc.
To start with, you’ll just need two simple ingredients.

Fake Snow
- 1 bag Cornstarch
- 1 cup Conditioner
Simply mix the cornstatch and conditioner together.
If the mixture is too sticky, add more cornstarch and if it's too dry, add more conditioner. You want it to be moldable but not sticky.

Add in some fun winter animals or items that you would find in a winter scene and let the kids imagination run wild! I placed it in a container but you could do a cookie sheet too which allows more than one kid to play with it at a time.

Gracelyn wasn’t too sure about it but she ended up having so much fun and being completely entranced by it!

This came out so cute. Ive never done a sensory bin with Cassidy.
My toddler and I just made this the other day. She LOVED it!
This is so great! Easy recipe and lots of winter fun. Can;t wait to make it.
So fun and easy to make! It looks like they had a blast playing with fake snow!
This actually looks a lot less toxic than the fake snow I bought on Amazon. I wouldn’t let my two year old even play with it. Doing this next year!
