One tradition that has always been part of my family is getting new pajamas on Christmas Eve. It’s something that my grandmother did with my mom when she was a child and has been passed down from my mom to us. To this day, my mom still gets us all Christmas Eve pjs and they’re always something festive. It’s probably the thing I look forward to the most!

I started doing it with my kids as well but added my own little twist to it! We do a whole box that usually has some little festive treats or toys for them to use on Christmas Eve as we watch our family movie all snuggled up in our pajamas.

Typically, I’ll put in a bag of un-popped popcorn, some small snacks like goldfish or gummies, a festive cup and a toy of some sorts along with their pj’s for the night!
This year, I found these adorable boxes from Walmart and while I had wanted them all to be the same, mine only had one box that was small so I went with the larger one and just put Gracelyn and Giovanni together since they are both still so little. I grabbed these adorable little plastic cups while I was at Walmart for 98 cents and threw in some Goldfish and popcorn. I also always get them a Rudolph for the year but couldn’t find any except this tiny one so I got Adylee a little Scout Elf girl that she can hook onto her back pack.

Simple yet the kids just eat it all up and can’t wait for this tradition! We usually watch The Polar Express or Elf on Christmas Eve so that will always be our go to movie no matter what and we’ll snuggle up on the couch and just soak it all up before my husband and I have to play Santa. These moments are seriously my favorite of the season! The ones where you create traditions, memories that will last a lifetime and just spend time together as a family. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of it all but this really forces you to slow down and just enjoy the time together. That’s the holidays for me….family time. There simply isn’t anything better than that!
