This time of year is usually when families get lots of photos done. However, most of the time moms usually struggle with what to do or even what to wear. I have compiled a list of some of our favorite past photoshoots for ideas because let’s face it, Christmas time is all about capturing the moment and reliving memories later on.
Indoor Shoots
Last year, we had the opportunity to take some indoor photos and these have been my favorite to date! We did a pillow fight, iced cookies and also took some super cute photos by the tree. It was the picture perfect Christmas photo session! I can not thank my friends at Love & Chaos Photography enough for them. You’ll see them throughout my Christmas posts this year because they are just too good to not share again! The absolute star of the show was definitely our matching Christmas PJs. With these type of shoots, it is supposed to represent you being in your own home so the matching PJs are certainly what you wanna do for the kids at least! I think it’s fun to do them as a whole family because I am that mom.
Outdoor Shoot
These are the more typical ones that you see during the holidays as it’s easier for photographers and even yourself if you chose to do them. We have done these more over the last few years but, they are always just the kids in these shoots. This year, we decided to join in on the outdoor shoot! Personally, I am a huge fan of buffalo plaid during the Christmas season so the kids always wear some type of plaid in their shoots. It just screams Christmas time to me! We have done the classic red vintage truck as well as just some small outdoor ones. I will even include our first Christmas with Giovanni in here!
Our earlier photos of the kids are pretty simple and they are still so cute to me because sometimes simplicity is just what you need to capture that moment in your lives. During those times, we only had each other and that was all that we needed during that time. Even now, my kids and my husband are all need during the holiday season. Toys, clothes, electronics, we all outgrow them at one point or another but your family….thats forever! So even if you can’t get professional photos done, capture the moment! Just like we did in our bed at home below.
These are all so cute! We still haven’t done a Christmas photo. We did one in the fall instead this year.
