Royal Icing Recipe included
Christmas isn’t Christmas unless you bake some Christmas cookies and that’s exactly what we did!
No cookie making during the holiday season would be complete without some little helpers too.

Lets start with what you’ll need for the cookies!

No Chill Sugar Cookie
- 1 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3 Cup All Purpose Flour
Preheat oven to 350
In a bowl, mix together butter and sugar until smooth
Beat in egg and extracts
In a seperate bowl, combine baking powder and flour. Add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. If dough becomes too hard to handle in bowl then remove and flour counter top and continue to knead there.
No need to chill dough! Divide into workable sections and roll out on counter then cut using shapes.
Bake for 6-8 mins allowing to cool enough to transfer.

No sugar cookie is complete without icing so of course, I had to whip up a batch of royal icing and frost them with my sweet babies as well.

For the icing, you’ll need the following below!

Easy Royal Icing
- 1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 tbsp Warm Water
- 1/2 tbsp Light Corn Syrup
- 1/8 tsp Vanilla or Almond Extract
Put powdered sugar in mixing bowl and set aside. In a smaller bowl, combine warm water, light corn syrup, and extract. Stir until corn syrup is dissolved.
Add mixture to powdered sugar and stir until fully combined. Mixture will be thick. Add water by droplets if you think it is too thick. Too thin? Add powdered sugar.
Use immeditely.

This is such an awesome and easy recipe. My family is also planning to cook sweets and meals at home for Christmas. I’ll give recip a try.
Last year was the first year that we did cutout cookies. Every year we pick out new recipes to make as a family for Christmas cookies.
This is great! I just made cut out sugar cookies with my daughter for the first time (I am not a sugar cookie fan but she is!). I have to say, I was looking for a no chill recipe and couldn’t find a good one. I will use this next time! I don’t have the patience for chilling!
I love baking sugar cookies with my kids! We do this every year. I love that you included so many pictures of what this recipe looks like step by step. It is so helpful when making a new recipe to know what it is supposed to look like!
OMG a no-chill sugar cookie dough recipe??? This is what I have been needing my whole adult life – THANK YOU!!! My girls love making sugar cookies, but it is always such a hassle to plan ahead enough so I have the time to make the dough several hours before we’re gonna use it so it can chill, and then by the time we’re ready to roll and cut it, I’ve usually eaten half of it – NOT GOOD! Thank you so much!!!
Yummm! The holidays are not complete without cookies like these! I’ve been wanting to get started with baking with my kiddo again already, and I’m so excited to add these to our baing itinerary! Very excited about the Royal icing and the no-chill sugar cookie dough. We are so impatient to eat them, so this is very exciting! haha!
Oh, this is such an awesome recipe. I’m so excited to try it.
Baking holiday cookies are a staple!
I’m going to have to save this! Royal icing has never been my strong suit. But I’ve never tried this one!
