The kids playroom was one area that I would walk by and just turn my head the other way until they went to bed and it was time to clean up. It was just full of toys and random things that they would just throw around and make a huge mess. The walls were this god awful dark tan color and it was just so dreary in there that most of the time they’d end up watching TV somewhere else and bring toys with them to that area. It was time for a change.

First up, we painted the walls a light grey and that really brightened up the place. It was insane how much of a change happened with just painting the walls and give it some brightness. We then added my favorite part of the whole playroom, the wallpaper. I collaborated with Loomwell on this part of the playroom and it turned out so good! I chose the neutral rainbows with a sweet saying to always remind the kids that “all you need is love.” It complemented the grey walls PERFECTLY!

I then went to work on cleaning up the toys and getting ride of things they never touched, things that just were way too young for them and then putting away some of their favorites to save for toy rotation time. I collaborated a couple months ago with Lovevery and was able to get two amazing Montessori boxes for Gracelyn and Giovanni which helped switched out the random toys for some good Montessori ones. Then, I had my dad build some awesome book shelves so that the kids books could be displayed but not where they could reach and throw around. We added in some amazing shelving for their toys.

I added in a tent that I had gotten originally for Gracelyn’s nursery but since moving it just didn’t fit anywhere however, this space ended up being perfect as the kids can sit in there and read. I threw some pillows in there and it’s their favorite spot to lay and lounge. I also had my dad create a busy board and oh my goodness do they love that! Gracelyn loves to turn on the two lights and walk away which is too funny to watch because then there is such a huge bright area and she gets startled when she walks back by it.

Lastly, I collaborated with LNC Home on this amazing rug that just tied the entire room together. I’m talking finishing touch type of goodness! The colors are perfect and just give it that all around vibe of homey yet learning. Eventually this month, Adylee will also being doing her school work in there as we tackle this school year strictly from home. I am both excited and nervous for that venture! However, having this gorgeous playroom/learning space for the kids has really made me so excited to start!

I would definitely have to say that between the LNC Home rug, the Lovevery subscription box and the wallpaper from Loomwell are my absolute favorite pieces! I also really love that there are homemade pieces from my dad in it for the kids because those are things that they will always have to remember their Papa by when he is gone. Sentimental value is absolutely priceless! Check out the links to our favorite pieces below!
